Lisa webber, Associate Director at Rice University in the Center for Education School Science & Technology. Lisa and the team at Rice University Center provide a unique professional development program where elementary science teachers in the greater Houston area attend training one day a week for 28 days thru the school year. While in training, the team works on assisting teachers in various areas including: increasing teacher science content knowledge, understanding of the state standards, effective teaching strategies including the 5E model and a constructivist approach to hands-on science and helping the teachers become leaders on their campus and provide training for other teacher on their campus. Lisa looks forward to continuing collaboration with other science leaders in helping create science-literate teachers and students in Texas.
